The Macan is ready to mamba. Porsche AG this week began production of the new Macan at its Leipzig factory site in Germany. The company said the plant will ramp up production to 420 units per day, the first order to be shipped to a customer in China.
The new Macan, which includes a moderate redesign, includes a brand new LED light strip across the boot. The light strip will include a four point brake light on each side and the turn signal will trace like a hockey stick across the bottom edge in yellow.
New LED daytime running lights are standard in the front and new LED fog lights are integrated into the design of the air intakes.
Inside, the vehicle incorporates a new 10.9-inch HD touchscreen Porsche Communication Management system with new intelligent voice command and navigation built in as standard. The driver and passenger air vents now rest below the PCM, though the long array of analog buttons remain the prior version.
New options include Traffic Jam Assist adaptive cruise control and the GT sports steering wheel. New vehicle color options include Miami Blue, Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Crayon.
Since 2014, Porsche has delivered more than Macan 350,000 units to global markets.
The new Macan will drop to the U.S. by summer 2019.
