Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh made history this week at his first show for Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week.
The Spring/Summer 2019, themed as Color Theory, was a mathematical algorithm of bright colors, light fabrics, and new Keepall bags that equip a streetwear aesthetic cultivated from Abloh’s Off-White brand.
Wide-leg trousers, high-top sneakers, and vests with structured square pockets added a youthful accessibility to ready-to-wear. New bright white and fluorescent yellow leather bags accessorized with porcelain chains added an edge to classic bag designs.
The final section of the runway show included a bit of spring tradition with darker floral print jackets, now oversized for comfort.
The future looks bright at Louis Vuitton, and Virgil Abloh is in fine form bringing the past to the future.
